Location: Closter, NJ
Work Schedule: Monday - Saturday, 3am start
Hourly Pay Rate: $31.91

• Drivers are responsible for safely operating front, side, or rear‑loading trucks for pick‑up of bags or containers of waste or recyclable material.
• Transport the material to a disposal, transfer or recycling facility, and may make one or more trips throughout the shift.
• Deploy both manual and automatic trucks.
• Position may require repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds, moving and maneuvering up to 100 pounds, and mounting and dismounting the truck multiple times every route.

• 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with Airbrake endorsement.
• 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
• Great safety record and clean MVR.
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic & signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports & records.
• Read & understand a map.
• Meet physical & safety requirements of the position.
• Willing & able to work required hours as allowed under DOT regulation; may include weekend, night and/or holiday work.

• Routes may require navigating through congested communities and confined or tight urban areas.
• Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential.
• Drivers routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
• Pre‑ and post‑inspections required; drivers must ensure truck is compliant with IWS’s safety standards, OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.
