** We are hiring for a Department Manager, Wine at our Save-On-Foods location in Cloverdale, BC.
**** This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability.
**** You will be responsible for:
*** Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.
* Ensuring the department executes and achieves operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
* Engaging and retaining team members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning.
* Communicating key messages and business objectives to team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
* Supporting the management team in reviewing and analyzing income statements and identifying opportunities to improve performance within the department.
* Reviewing and interpreting department financial reports and presenting KPIs to the management team.
* Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.
* Assisting the management team with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
* Leading inventory counts/period end of the department and resolving issues as required.
* Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods of time, and working in hot/cold environments.
** You have:
*** 1-3 years of retail experience.
* Leadership experience is an asset.
* Food Safe Certification.
* A post-secondary education in a business related field is an asset.
* Experience and/or knowledge with:  + Achieving sales targets and profitability.  + Executing merchandising plans and creating in-store displays to drive sales.  + Human Resources (e.g. training, development, coaching and mentoring).  + Employee Relations and knowledge of the collective agreement (if applicable).  + Scheduling.
* Proficiency with computer applications.
** You are:

* An effective communicator, with interpersonal and relationship building skills.
