Bush Construction is currently seeking motivated candidates for multiple Construction Superintendent positions.
Successful candidates must be knowledgeable and experienced with the construction process. The Superintendent is full-time in the field and serves as the primary point of contact with all project subcontractors. This role requires the individual to work with office and field personnel as well as maintaining and developing positive relationships with Subcontractors, Owners, Design Professionals, and Utilities Providers.
Bush Construction has offices in Hanford and Clovis. We serve clients in Fresno, Madera, Kings, Tulare, Merced, and Stanislaus Counties. We specialize in education and civic construction projects, with additional experience in healthcare and commercial construction.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- The Superintendent is the primary point of contact with Subcontractor Foremen.
- Primary responsibility for subcontractor product submittals.
- Review and verify all shop drawings and submittals.
- Develop and manage the construction site logistics plan.
- Conduct and log the weekly safety meetings.
- Conduct routine job walks to observe the course of construction and look for any unsafe acts.
- Coordinate with the inspector of record for all project testing and review.
- Coordinate all project construction permitting.
- Produce and log daily/weekly/monthly project reports.
- Update the project closeout punch list documents.
- Develop RFI and review all RFI developed by others.
- The superintendent is responsible for validating logic, sequencing, and field constructability of the Critical Path Schedule (CPM).
- Collaborate with field teams and subcontractors to determine schedule impacts for construction delays.
- Develop and distribute weekly short interval schedule (SIS). This is also referred to as the 3-week look ahead schedule.
- Formally notify subcontractors of upcoming mobilization.
- Confirm the material required onsite date will align with the critical path schedule.
- Coordinate with in-house self-perform labor scheduler and construction scheduler on current progress and workforce needs.
- Review and validate T&M work.
- Support the preconstruction team in plan review and constructability reporting.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the construction industry.
- Carpentry, masonry or other trade experience is preferred.
- Ability to prepare a CPM schedule and understanding of the sequencing of construction. (Microsoft Project or Primavera P6).
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications. Identify clashes and coordination issues, errors/omissions and other constructability items. (Bluebeam)
- Highly proficient communication and relationship management skills.
- Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office Software.
- Working knowledge of materials and equipment techniques and methods.
- DSA and/or HCAI project experience is preferred.
