Human Services Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool)

• Teach part-time schedule of Human Services courses as assigned.
• Use diverse pedagogies and integrate technology in face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid formats.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
• Follow approved curriculum outlines.
• Assess student progress via tests, assignments, and oral responses aligned with course objectives.
• Provide course syllabi and maintain classroom records per District Policy.
• Submit grading and evaluation reports timely.
• Teach in varied instructional settings (evening, weekend, online, off‑campus, dual enrollment at local high schools).
• Fulfill all duties required of instructors under Administrative Regulation 7122.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Evidence of responsiveness to diverse student populations.
• Master’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, counseling (marriage & family therapy, rehabilitation counseling, or gerontology) OR
• A valid California Community College Credential OR
• Equivalent education and/or experience (requires equivalency).

• Experience integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion in instruction.
• Background with racially minoritized students and understanding of historical exclusion.
• Willingness to examine and improve instructional, relational, and classroom practices.
• Work and professional experience relevant to Human Services.
• Experience with students of varied cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and disability backgrounds.
• Experience supporting under‑prepared and high‑need community college students.
• Collaborative spirit with faculty and staff to enhance instruction and student success.
• Computer literacy for high‑quality instruction.
• Effective communication with students and staff.
• Knowledge of current assessment methods and community college mission.

• Placed on step one of the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
• Salary classification based on education and experience.
• Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
