Responsibilities
- Teach assigned part‑time Dance courses.
- Use a variety of pedagogies and integrate technology for face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid formats.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Implement approved curriculum course outlines.
- Evaluate student progress through tests, exams, assignments, oral responses, etc.
- Provide course syllabi and maintain classroom records per district policy.
- Submit grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
- Teach in various instructional settings and times as needed.
- Fulfill duties required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students.
- Master’s in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasis; or
- Bachelor’s in any of the above with an additional Master’s in physical education, any life science, physiology, theater arts, kinesiology, humanities, performing arts or music; or
- Valid California Community College Credential; or
- Equivalent education and/or experience requiring equivalency.

Desirable Qualifications- Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all responsibilities.
- Recent experience with students from historically underrepresented groups.
- Willingness to examine and improve instructional practices to engage minority students.
- Related work and professional experience.
- Experience working with students of various cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, including disabilities.
- Experience with traditionally underrepresented populations such as foster youth.
- Facilitation of multicultural and cross‑cultural communication with sensitivity.
- Experience with under‑prepared and high‑need community college students.
- Collaboration ability with faculty and staff to enhance instruction, curriculum, and student success.
- Computer skills with technologies used in instruction and support.
- Effective communication with students and staff.
- Knowledge of current assessment methods and materials.
- Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
- Newly hired part‑time faculty placed on step one of the Part‑time Faculty Salary Schedule.
- Salary classification based on education and experience per the Schedule.
- Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
