Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool)
Clovis Community College is seeking an equity‑minded instructor to provide part‑time instruction in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. The successful candidate will teach assigned courses, integrate technology for diverse delivery formats, assess student progress, maintain records, advise students, and collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success.
Responsibilities- Teach a part‑time schedule of OTA courses as assigned.
- Use a variety of pedagogies and technology for face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid formats.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Implement effective teaching methods in accordance with approved curriculum outlines.
- Evaluate student progress via tests, examinations, written and oral assignments aligned with course objectives.
- Provide course syllabi and maintain classroom records per district policy.
- Submit grading and evaluation reports on time.
- Adapt to varying instructional settings and times, including additional classes as needed.
- Advise students in the OTA program and contribute to curriculum design.
- Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122 and other assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree and ≥6 years of professional OTA experience, or Bachelor’s degree and ≥2 years, or a valid California Community College Credential, or equivalent education/experience (requires equivalency), and a valid California OTA license.
- Evidence of sensitivity to diversity and equity in the classroom.
- Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into teaching.
- Recent experience with under‑represented student populations.
- Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices to engage racially minoritized students.
- Experience with multicultural communication and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
- Experience supporting high‑need students.
- Collaborative skills with faculty and staff to enhance instruction and student success.
- Proficiency with computers and instructional technology.
- Effective communication skills with students and staff.
- Knowledge of current assessment methods and community‑college mission.
- Newly hired part‑time faculty placed on Step 1 of the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
- Salary classification based on education and experience as outlined in the salary schedule.
- Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
