Environmental Technologies Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool) Clovis Community College

Essential Functions of Position- Teach Water Treatment and Distribution courses, including Drinking Water Treatment and Wastewater courses, on a part‑time schedule.
- Use a variety of pedagogies and integrate innovative technologies for face‑to‑face, online, and/or hybrid formats.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Apply effective teaching methods consistent with institutionally approved curriculum outlines.
- Assess student progress through tests, examinations, written assignments, and oral responses in line with course objectives.
- Provide course syllabi and maintain classroom records according to District Policy.
- Submit grading and evaluation reports promptly.
- Teach in various instructional settings and times, including classes as needed.
- Fulfill all instructor duties required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds and related equity‑minded practice.
- Bachelor’s degree with at least two (2) years of full‑time equivalent professional experience; or
- Associate degree with at least six (6) years of full‑time equivalent professional experience; or
- Valid California Community College Credential; or
- Equivalent education and/or experience with an accepted equivalency.

Desirable Qualifications- Experience integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility.
- Recent experience working with African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, or other racially minoritized students and an understanding of historical exclusion patterns.
- Willingness to examine and remediate instructional and relational practices to better engage and support racially minoritized students.
- Professional experience related to water treatment and distribution courses.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff to enhance instruction and student success.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with instructional technologies.
- Strong communication skills with students and staff.
- Knowledge of current assessment methods and materials.
- Understanding of the community college mission and goals.
- Newly hired part‑time faculty placed on step one of the Part‑time Faculty Salary Schedule.
- Salary classification based on education and experience as outlined in the Part‑time Faculty Salary Classifications.
- Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
