Position: Health Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool) Clovis Community College

Health Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool) – Clovis Community College

This part‑time position is part of Clovis Community College’s Faculty Pool. The Health Instructor will teach courses in Health and Health Education to a diverse student body, including evening, weekend, online, and large‑group instruction sessions as required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in Health courses such as Hlth 1 and Hlth 2, both online and in‑person.
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff to support learning and student success.
  • Fulfill all duties and responsibilities required of instructors as set out in Administrative Regulation 7122.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in health science, health education, biology, nursing, physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, dietetics, nutrition, or public health.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the above fields AND a Master’s degree in any biology science.
  • A valid California Community College credential.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience (equivalency required).

All candidates must demonstrate responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, and apply equity‑oriented practices in the classroom.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience teaching health education at the secondary or post‑secondary level.
  • Knowledge of current health issues, pedagogical practices, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working with students of various ages, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Experience with computer‑assisted instruction and other educational technologies.
  • Relevant professional experience and active interest in teaching community college students.
  • Recent experience teaching racially minoritized students and an understanding of historical exclusion patterns.
  • Willingness to examine and adjust instructional practices to better engage and support racially minoritized students.
  • Skills in addressing equity issues within the classroom.
  • Potential to contribute to institutional vitality and growth.
  • Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
Salary and Benefits

Starting rates are $45.49 – $61.78 per lecture hour and $38.67 – $52.55 per lab hour. Sick leave accrual is based on assignment hours.
