Job SummaryThe Medical Receptionist is responsible for enabling patients to access care at the clinic by providing administrative support to the Providers, answering telephone calls from patients, scheduling and confirming appointments, completing the registration process, handling charting and payments, and providing for a smooth and efficient patient flow process
Schedule- Monday – Friday
- 7:45am – 4:45pm
- $24.50 DEO
- Provides highest quality of customer service, including greeting patients in a polite, prompt, and professional manner.
- Gets cash change at the start of each day from Billing Department, verifying amount with A/R employee.
- Responsible for registration of patients, by accurately and completely updating patient demographics in Intergy.
- Obtains signatures on financial policies and medical forms as needed to provide patient care.
- Scans insurance card and verifies insurance eligibility at every visit, updating copays as appropriate.
- Runs eligibility to see if patient has primary or secondary Medi-cal.
- Balances cash sheet daily, having it signed off by the Department Lead.
- Provides phone receptionist support by answering calls and making appointments as needed.
- Contacts and confirms patient upcoming appointments as needed.
- Advises and greets pharmaceutical reps as to provider schedules and availability to meet with them.
- Responsible for, or assists in distributing faxes as appropriate.
- Consistently follows established safety policies and procedures.
- Adheres to policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Other duties as assigned by the Department Lead and/or Administration.
- 2-3 Years of experience.
- Must have knowledge of Epic (must have worked with it in the last 15 months)
- Knowledge of Nex Gen.
- Bilingual Preferred but not required.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Highly organized; ability to multi-task.
- Excellent customer service/patient care.
- Outgoing personality enjoys working with the public.
