The Store Opening & Training Manager plays a critical leadership role in Kuppa Joy’s growth. This position is responsible for supporting and leading new store openings, training new teams and leaders, and ensuring operational excellence and cultural alignment from day one.
This role requires experience comparable to a General Manager and is ideal for a strong operational leader who thrives in fast‑paced environments, enjoys developing people, and can execute with excellence during periods of growth and change.
The Store Opening & Training Manager serves as a culture carrier, systems expert, and on‑site leader during new café launches and early stabilization phases. This role bridges culture and operations—supporting growth while maintaining the heart and standards of Kuppa Joy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Store Openings & Training- Lead training and operational readiness for new café openings.
- Develop and execute training plans for new hires, new stores, and leadership teams.
- Serve as an on‑site leader during openings, modeling standards and coaching in real time.
- Support existing cafés between openings by reinforcing training and operational standards.
- Uphold exceptional customer service rooted in Love God, Love People, Love Coffee.
- Ensure consistent execution of service standards, drink quality, food preparation, and café presentation.
- Conduct regular assessments of service, product quality, and cleanliness across locations.
- Provide hands‑on coaching to baristas, kitchen staff, and leaders to improve consistency, efficiency, and execution.
- Partner with Lead Team, CEO, and the Roasting Manager to refine recipes, workflows, and training systems.
- Serve as a bridge between café teams and leadership, reinforcing clarity, accountability, and alignment.
- Support the development of Shift Leads, Assistant Store Managers, and Store Managers through modeling strong leadership presence.
- Represent and reinforce Kuppa Joy’s values, culture, and expectations across all locations.
- Use assessment tools to gather data on performance, service quality, and training effectiveness.
- Share insights with the Lead Team to inform improvement plans and growth strategies.
- Ensure proper care and stewardship of café equipment, facilities, and company resources.
We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:
- 3+ years of experience in a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or equivalent leadership role
- Strong operational background in food service, hospitality, retail, or multi‑unit environments
- Proven experience training, coaching, and leading teams
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and solutions‑focused under pressure
- Self‑motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in the field.
- Willingness and ability to travel between locations as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to balance operational excellence with relational leadership.
