About the Role:
HPA is seeking a talented and experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team! This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious individuals looking to elevate their career in a supportive and innovative environment. Your responsibilities will include overseeing accounting operations, assist with procurement and purchasing activities, and ensuring accurate inventory functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Accounting Department: Lead the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining high standards of quality and integrity in all financial documents. This includes setting clear objectives for team members and providing mentorship to foster their professional growth.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: Ensure efficient processing of all incoming and outgoing payments, maintaining accurate records and timely reconciliations. Monitor cash flow and financial obligations to optimize working capital and support operational needs.
- Maintain the General Ledger: Oversee the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with established accounting principles. Regularly review account balances and make necessary adjustments to reflect true financial status.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant regulations and compliance standards, implementing necessary changes to internal controls and accounting practices. Conduct regular assessments of compliance protocols to mitigate risk and protect the organization's financial health.
- Support Financial Policy Development: Collaborate closely with the Head of Operations to design and implement robust financial policies that enhance operational efficiency and promote best practices across the organization. This includes evaluating existing policies and recommending improvements based on industry trends and internal performance metrics.
- Conduct Financial Audits and Reconciliations: Lead comprehensive financial audits and account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and addressing issues proactively. Prepare detailed findings reports and collaborate with auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.
- Prepare Financial Statements and Reports: Generate accurate financial statements, presenting insights and analyses to the executive leadership team. Ensure that reports are timely and support strategic decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with Leadership: Work strategically with the executive leadership team to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies. Participate in cross-departmental initiatives that align financial strategies with organizational goals.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or at least 5 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.
- Previous experience in the sports industry is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Quick Books and Microsoft Office applications.
