ABOUT

THIS ROLE

The role of a general production laborer with Wawona Frozen Foods provides a wide range of activities including housekeeping, stacking, moving product, dumping product, weight testing, assisting operators and batchers, or helping in other departments as needed. This role is essential to our operations and candidates must be able to follow clear directions, work in a loud, cold environment, and perform repetitive work as part of a team.

DUTIES

INCLUDE
  • Active participation in Wawona Frozen Foods safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environment.
  • Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.
  • Follow all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures.
  • Stacking of product in accordance with finished product specifications.
  • Assist with production.
  • Clean-up work areas including removing debris, mop, sweep, or other housekeeping duties as assigned or needed.
  • Load and unload items from cart and dollies.
  • Mix, measure or pour ingredients. Ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Inspect fruit by feel and visual inspection.
  • Notify supervisors or lead of any issues with equipment.
  • Package, sort, and stack finished goods.
  • Complete box counts and ensure stacking according to directions.
  • Efficiently and safely move product to proper areas for use following all department and QA procedures.
  • Transfer finished goods to pallets or holding freezers.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 0-2 years' experience working in a manufacturing or similar setting.
  • Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and recognize similarities and difference.
  • Ability to perform operations using units of weight measurements, quality standards, and quantity measurements.
  • Ability to do continuous repetitive work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills
  • A strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
  • Self‑motivated and self‑starter
  • Ability to work with various employees and employee levels while building rapport and respect.
  • Must be punctual and regular attendance is required.
  • Understand and follow all color‑coding rules as stated in procedures for utensils, containers, and other equipment.
LOCATION
  • This position will work out of our Cedar or Alluvial location.
