Program Overview
SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as Skill Bridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on‑the‑job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full‑time civilian work.
EligibilityNOTE:
You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military.
- Must be currently serving on active duty military and eligible to participate in the DoD Skill Bridge program.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with typically two or more years of relevant experience (a higher level degree may substitute for experience).
- Must pass written, oral, and practical assessments.
- Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including a hearing test.
- Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required, and non‑U.S. citizens may not be eligible.
- Ability to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts, including overtime and weekends.
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS) (preferred).
- Background in the aerospace and defense industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. military (preferred).
- FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience (preferred).
