ABOUTTHIS ROLE
The role of a Quality Technician with Wawona Frozen Foods will require the ability to conduct a variety of verifications as stated in our SOPs with the goal of ensuring that the product meets minimum standards. Including, proficiently filling out required paperwork, and performing CCP checks. They will work in close communication with department lead and/or supervisor as well as other departments to provide sufficient quality feedback.
DUTIESINCLUDE
- Active participation in Wawona Frozen Foods safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environment.
- Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.
- Follow all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures.
- Wears all required personal protective equipment.
- Accountable for performing quality checks such as pit checks, grading checks or required checks in Repack or Fruit Cup departments.
- CCP trained with ability to perform metal detector and magnet checks.
- Ability to use computer, including CDB inventory system.
- Ability to place product on hold when product is out of grade or other.
- Ability to collect micro samples while preventing contamination by following SOPs.
- Inspects systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and reports findings to lead or supervisor.
- 0-2 years' experience working in a manufacturing or similar setting.
- 0-2 years' experience working in Quality Control or related field.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills
- A strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
- Self-motivated and self-starter
- Ability to work with various employees and employee levels while building rapport and respect.
- Must be punctual and regular attendance is required.
- Understand and follow all color-coding rules as stated in procedures for utensils, containers, and other equipment.
- This position will work out of our Cedar or Alluvial location.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise and in cold temperatures.
- Stand and walk, feel, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally requested to sit and talk or hear.
- A fast-paced environment that requires high attention to details and minimal down time.
- Occasional lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as buckets of fruit, boxes, pails, etc. Lifting requirement:
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. independently. - Other duties as assigned requiring repetitive tasks, duties, or assignments such as sorting, packing, stacking, or cutting.
- Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team, customers, and deadlines.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and ability to see all colors.
- You will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration. Exposure to cleaning products and agents for the sanitation of equipment and machinery regularly.
- Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to dress code as outlined for working in a food manufacturing facility.
