About

This Role

The role of a Sanitation Supervisor with Wawona Frozen Foods will serve as a working team leader of a crew of grounds personnel. Taking direction from the Sanitation Manager, the Sanitation Supervisor will be responsible for all the sanitation duties, from cleaning, chemical preparation, GMPs, HACCP, and manufacturing expenses.

Duties
  • Active participation in Wawona Frozen Foods’ Safety program to maintain a healthy and injury‑free environment.
  • Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.
  • Compliance with all GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures.
  • Empowered to notify and/or act in response to any issues or concerns within the scope of work.
  • Wear all the required personal protective equipment.
  • Coordinate all the sanitation techs on their shift to ensure that all required lines receive cleaning and sanitation to be ready for the next use.
  • Oversee the preparation of sanitation chemicals to make sure that they are at the proper level for use.
  • Follow and complete the monthly master sanitation checklist to ensure that all non‑production areas are cleaned according to schedule.
  • Train and coach new and seasonal sanitation employees as needed to ensure that we are properly following our SSOPs and all safety procedures.
  • Assist the sanitation supervisor with scheduling employees as needed to ensure that all shifts have the coverage that they need.
  • Require to wear all the correct PPE needed to perform the sanitation job functions and monitor and enforce this rule with all sanitation employees.
  • Ensure that all sanitation and pest control standards within the SQF & other Food safety audit schemes are being followed and up to date to make sure that we are audit ready at all times.
  • Ability to travel between local facilities to ensure coverage across shifts as needed.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor or manager.
Requirements
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • 2-3 years of Supervisor/Leadership experience in Sanitation preferred.
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A strong work ethic and a can‑do attitude.
  • Self‑motivated and self‑starter.
  • Must be punctual and regular attendance is required.
Location
  • This position will work out of our Alluvial location.

Physical and/or Mental Demands
  • Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise and in cold temperatures.
  • Stand and walk, feel, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally requested to sit and talk or hear.
  • A fast‑paced environment that requires high attention to details and minimal down time.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team, customers, and deadlines.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and ability to see all colors.
  • Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to dress code as outlined for working in a food manufacturing facility.
