Hinds LIfeCare, one of the most well-known and well-respected nonprofit agencies in California's Central Valley and a pioneer in the practice of hospice and palliative care, is seeking an experienced Thrift Store Manager to join our team.
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Thrift Store Operations, oversees and is responsible for all daily store operations. Supervises a team consisting of Assistant Managers, and/or Supervisors, Employees, and Volunteers.
- Follows, adheres to, and ensures compliance of all Hinds LIfeCare Policies and Procedures within the store.
- Directs and oversees all store operations through a store team consisting of Assistant Managers, and/or Supervisors, Employees, and Volunteers on a daily basis; actively participates in the development of direct reports and store staff.
- Participates in the hiring, on boarding, and training of volunteer and employee staff, coordinating directly with the Thrift Store Volunteer Coordinator; plans and generates store schedules to meet business needs.
- Responsible for the safety and security of all store staff and customers, coordinating with the Safety and Security Officer to ensure compliance of the Safety Program; inspects the store to identify facility needs and/or hazards, coordinating with the Facilities Department and/or Thrift Store Operations to ensure timely repair and safe functionality.
- Ensures collection of donated merchandise from donors per company policy; opens, and unpacks cartons or crates of donated merchandise; ensures compliance with donation rules and regulations.
- Coordinates with the Thrift Store Driving Team and/or the Director of Thrift Store Operations to address store merchandise needs, recycle supply needs, and merchandise disposal; collaborates on the scheduling of donation pick-ups and customer deliveries.
- Ensures consistent cleanliness of the entire store, including sales-floor and fitting rooms, stock rooms, staff areas, and parking lot.
- Prepares, submits, and maintains all applicable documentation and reports associated with daily store operations as directed by the Director of Thrift Store Operations and the Finance Department; ensures the accurate receiving of incoming store supply orders and reports variances to the applicable person.

- Compensation $23 - $25 hourly

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Two (2) plus years Store Management experience within a retail environment.
- Experience working with individual Volunteers and/or Volunteer Groups on a regular basis.
- Experience with computer operations including Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and internet research.
- Knowledge of retail clothing and household goods and their corresponding values.
- Understanding of retail customer service processes, including assessing and maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Knowledgeable in team leadership, delegation, and conflict resolution.
- Familiarity with the techniques of promoting and selling merchandise in a retail setting, including merchandise organization, sales floor presentation, and product rotation.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (i.e., Push, Pull, Lift/Carry 50 lbs.)
