Fleet Maintenance Mechanic (Maintenance)
We are seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of more than 400 vehicles. Approximately 85% of our fleet consists of Ford trucks, including F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-750 models used in landscaping and maintenance operations. This is not an entry-level position.
Key Responsibilities- Perform oil changes, preventative maintenance, and vehicle inspections.
- Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, driveline, and engine-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, wiring, lighting, and charging systems.
- Identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently to minimize fleet downtime.
- Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records.
- Keep vehicles safe, reliable, and compliant with operational standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Assist with emergency and weekend repairs as needed.
- 3+ years of professional automotive, diesel, dealership, or fleet maintenance experience.
- Strong experience with oil changes, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to diagnose issues independently using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Dependable, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Valid drivers license.
- Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners.
- Ford dealership experience.
- Experience maintaining large commercial fleets.
- Experience working on high-mileage and older trucks.
- ASE certifications.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Test drive vehicles pre and post repairs
Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach, use hands, arms and fingers
Lifting and carrying up to 50lbs. Items exceeding 50lbs are moved with team assistance or mechanical lifting equipment.
Constantly moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing into and out of trucks
Must frequently use hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and other shop equipment requiring manual dexterity and repetitive hand movements.
The work is performed in a maintenance shop environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, vibration, grease, oils, diesel fuel, coolants, solvents, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures.
