Salary Range: Min $24.4010 - Max $36.6019 DOE/DOQ

Job Summary

Under the direction of the County Manager and Assistant County Manager for Financial and Administrative Services, the Grants Administrator/Writer will conduct planning and implementation for grants, preparing budgets, researching funding opportunities, monitoring expenditures, identifying support agencies, tracking results, analyzing financial data, and coordinating County special projects. The Grant Administrator/Writer will serve as the NM Clean and Beautiful and the Recycling and Illegal Dumping (RAID) Program Coordinator and other grant programs as directed by County Management.

This position also requires independent judgment and discretion, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to perform all duties with minimum supervision.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, English, or related field preferred. Work experience and college education can be considered as equivalent.
  • Previous grant writing or funding proposal experience strongly preferred as this position will write grants for the Curry County.
  • Experience working with City, County, and/or State Government preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in private and public settings with large and small groups of people.
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Google Mail and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to set up and maintain program monitoring systems.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English; oral and written.
  • Ability to interact professionally with supervisor, the public, and other co-workers.
  • Ability to work independently of daily supervision and to exercise discretionary judgment and thinking.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, pre-employment screening and background check.
  • Valid NM Driver’s License.
  • Ability to perform all essential duties as listed below.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties in the working conditions described below.
  • Ability to work with the equipment, tools and materials listed below.
  • Must comply with safety guidelines and policies of the County.
