Moss’ Superintendent plans, schedules, organizes and directs the construction of wood multi‑family building projects. They are responsible for all field execution of the project, typically having several Assistant Superintendents as direct reports. Superintendents coordinate the timely and cost‑effective placement of the contracted work, assist the Project Manager and/or Project Executive with all project needs, supervise directly or through subordinates all field construction work by the company’s own forces and by the subcontractors, and have full responsibility for all pertinent safety and quality control policies and procedures.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- May participate in preconstruction by identifying project requirements and Owner Contract requirements
- Works with Project Manager and scheduling team to create and build the project schedule
- Conduct preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors
- Lead the team from construction start through project close
- Communicate scope to the entire site management team
- Construct the project by maintaining a project production schedule, assist in developing scopes of work for each subcontractor
- Manage safety by establishing safety protocols to ensure the job site consistently adheres to OSHA safety standards
- Communicate regularly with owners and other construction management team members
- Manage job progress by participating in owners’ meetings, participating in in‑house staff meetings and providing written documentation on job progress
- Perform daily Superintendent reports and update schedule
- Manage the quality control plan
- Supervise assigned project personnel and maintain a positive work environment
- Manage project turnover/closeout process and assist in determining project turnover sequence
- Lead and coach new team members by providing feedback and performance evaluation and recognizing accomplishments
- Participate in professional development activities including continuing education
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s in construction management, engineering or related field preferred
- Experienced as a primary Superintendent on multi‑family wood projects
- Experience with multiple direct reports and an exceptional ability to lead and manage project teams is a necessity
- Computer proficiency
