Senior Cost Manager

Senior Cost Manager at Cumming Group.

• Plan, schedule, and manage the cost estimating team, ensuring quality assurance and control, fee proposals, and task management.
• Reconcile invoices and change orders with general contractor, subcontractors, and third parties.
• Perform value analysis and assess risk and value management evaluations.
• Develop and nurture client relationships to ensure client satisfaction.
• Support senior management by preparing reports and responding to inquiries.
• Mentor estimating technicians and estimators, training them in divisions and construction technology.
• Prepare project plans and bid analysis, providing post‑contract support.
• Participate in the peer review process.
• Understand project controls and stakeholder requirements.
• Attend industry events and demonstrate knowledge of the local market.
• Other duties as assigned; attendance during normal business hours.

• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently managing small teams.
• Proficiency in cost estimating for construction projects and pricing expertise across project phases.
• Proficient in measurement and understanding of trades, procurement strategies, and delivery methods.
• Ability to integrate with other departments and communicate with various stakeholders.
• Strong research and data analysis skills.
• Adaptability, creativity, and latitude in problem solving.
• Proficiency in Excel and current technology/software knowledge.
• Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and work efficiently under fast‑paced conditions.
• Understanding of contracts, specifications, and construction schedules.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop team members.

• BS in Construction, Cost & Commercial Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• 4–5 years in cost & commercial management or quantity surveying with professional accreditation.
• Preferred certifications: MRICS, Assoc
  
  RICS, CCP, CEP, CPE or equivalent.

Salary range: $93,000 – $124,000 per year.
