Senior/Executive Cost Consultant
Location and EmploymentWest Texas, New Mexico, or surrounding states. Permanent, full‑time with hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities- Manage pre‑qualification of vendors, assess proposals, bids, and bid levelling documents, make final recommendations to the client, attend bid interviews, and manage appointment processes.
- Develop complete project estimates covering construction, fees, direct work and other costs; present estimates to the client; prepare value engineering recommendations and risk assessments; review, validate and challenge costs with vendors; and benchmark estimates against other projects.
- Establish a cost reporting schedule, review and present cost reports and forecasts, review project budget and spend forecasts, maintain a commercial risk register, and host periodic meetings with the project team and vendors.
- Review payment application assessments, liaise with project managers to recommend contractor entitlements, review requests for change orders from vendors, and apply dispute prevention, management and resolution procedures to manage payment requisitions, change orders and contractual disputes.
- Manage and monitor invoicing processes.
- Lead the final accounting process and conduct post‑contract audits and account close‑outs.
- Document lessons learned to support further professional development and create training material.
- Perform all duties using and preparing Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, Cost Estimating Software, and Take‑off Software.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in a cost management role within the construction industry.
- Experience in construction cost management roles such as Estimating, Cost Engineering, Project Engineering, or Project Cost Controls.
- Proficiency in client‑facing roles.
- Experience supporting program‑level cost management for medium to large‑scale construction projects.
- Solid knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including different procurement routes, value management and value engineering.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with prior estimating tools and software.
