Chesterfield Lawns and Landscapes is a locally owned and operated landscape company known for high-quality craftsmanship, creative outdoor solutions, and exceptional customer service. We specialize in comprehensive lawn care, irrigation, and landscape construction services across residential and commercial properties.

Position Summary:

The Landscape Construction Project Manager oversees the planning, execution and delivery of residential and commercial landscape construction projects. This role is field-based, working directly with crews, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to our company’s quality standards. The ideal candidate will also handle backend responsibilities such as scheduling, estimating, and maintaining project budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight (Field):

  • Plan, organize and manage the daily operations of multiple landscape construction projects
  • Interpret and execute landscape designs, construction drawings, and technical specifications
  • Supervise job sites daily to ensure safety, quality, and progress
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for crews, clients, and vendors
  • Address on-the-ground challenges and adjust plans as needed
  • Ensure work is completed to specification and within timelines
  • Coordinate deliveries, equipment, and materials needed on-site
  • Conduct final project walkthroughs and manage punch lists

Crew & Schedule Coordination:

  • Assign and manage crew schedules in alignment with project timelines
  • Communicate daily priorities and work plans to foremen and crew leads
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and internal divisions as needed
  • Monitor labor hours and crew productivity
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure adherence to company safety protocols
  • Collaborate with the sales and design teams to support estimating and pre-construction planning
  • Assist in creating and revising project estimates and change orders
  • Input job details and update notes and information in Service Autopilot (or applicable CRM)
  • Track job progress and provide updates to management and clients
  • Assist in enhancing operational systems to improve efficiency, scalability, and quality of service
  • Document and report any project issues, delays, or damages
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in landscape or hardscape project management construction
  • Strong knowledge of landscape construction techniques including grading, drainage, retaining walls, patios and plant installation
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills in both field and office setings
  • Ability to read blueprints, site maps, interpret scopes of work and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable balancing field presence with backend administrative duties
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
