Job Title: NMAMA Middle and High School CTE Teacher
Reports To: Executive Director/Principal or Humanities Department Chair
Position Type: Full‑Time / Certified Teaching Position
Job Summary: The CTE Teacher provides students in grades 6–12 with hands‑on instruction in career and technical education pathways, primarily within the media arts, but also in business, health sciences, information technology, engineering, or family and consumer sciences. This role prepares students with academic knowledge, technical skills, and career readiness aligned to industry standards and future employment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and teach engaging CTE curriculum aligned with state and industry standards
- Provide hands‑on, project‑based learning that connects classroom instruction to real‑world careers
- Integrate academic, technical, and employability skills across all lessons
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment, including proper use of tools, equipment, or software
- Differentiated instruction to meet needs of diverse learners
- Assess student performance through practical and written evaluations
- Support students in earning industry‑recognized certifications where applicable
- Guide students in developing career plans, resumes, and portfolios
- Collaborate with colleagues, local businesses, and postsecondary institutions to enhance CTE programs
- Supervise student participation in career‑related events, competitions, or internships, if applicable
- Attend a minimum of 3 out‑school functions, one of which must be graduation
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Principal
- Bachelor’s degree in a CTE‑related field or education (Master’s preferred)
- Valid state teaching certification in Career and Technical Education or willingness to obtain
- Relevant industry experience and/or certifications (preferred or required based on subject area)
- Strong classroom management and instructional design skills
- Familiarity with career pathways, workforce development, and technical education trends
- Ability to integrate technology and 21st‑century skills into instruction
