ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR in Carlsbad, NM

With 31 years in the industry, we are one of the leading electrical contractors in Southeast New Mexico. Our current portfolio includes everything from small residential projects to numerous large‑scale commercial jobs – encompassing the private sector, local government, state, and federal work. We are looking for an electrical professional who is experienced, self‑motivated, and can hit the ground running. The prime candidate must be able to create accurate and competitive estimates for a wide range of projects by evaluating and understanding job specifications and drawings, compiling proposals, and working with the team to ensure precision.

Candidate must be able to relocate to the Carlsbad, NM area (assistance provided).

Housing assistance for the first six months.

THIS IS NOT A REMOTE JOB!

• Review specs, drawings, and full plans to determine the scope of work and requirements for job estimation
• Identify and request quotes from qualified and/or specific vendors and subcontractors; receive and evaluate their products for completeness, accuracy, and compliance and make correction recommendations as needed
• Prepare takeoffs and cost estimates and enter data into estimating software
• Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for each job, while allowing for incidentals
• Compile completed bid packets to present to the team and to the customer
• Ensure compliance with company and industry standards, evaluate risk, and stay tuned to customer requirements
• Compile inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for bid packets
• Actively include the team in decision making, bid reviews, and project prep
• Work side‑by‑side with the job site crew(s) to ensure customer satisfaction, company protocol, and job efficiency/completion
• Determine, with the company’s owner, the best estimation software to be used

• At least 8 years of experience in the electrical industry, with a proven history of time in the field combined with estimation
• Willingness to relocate to the Carlsbad, NM area
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with the entire team, vendors, customers, etc., with strong verbal and written skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to meet critical deadlines and work well under time constraints
• Capacity to be an effective & loyal team player, while looking out for the company’s best interests

Full‑Time, Hourly (4) tens, Monday – Thursday

Pay: $65.00/hour
