Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer

Job SummaryWe are in search of a professional and passionate Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer, that plays a critical role in performing diagnostic echo cardiographic procedures to assess and evaluate pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart conditions. You will work closely with our pediatric cardiologists and healthcare team to provide accurate and high-quality imaging services while ensuring the comfort and safety of our young patients.
Responsibilities- Perform pediatric echocardiograms using state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment to visualize cardiac structures and assess cardiac function in pediatric patients.
- Obtain patient history and pertinent clinical information to assist in the interpretation of echo cardiographic findings.
- Collaborate with pediatric cardiologists to optimize imaging protocols and ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and image files in accordance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and positioning of patients for echo cardiographic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the examination.
- Monitor and assess patient responses during echocardiograms, recognizing and promptly reporting any abnormalities or adverse reactions.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including equipment maintenance, image quality assessment, and proficiency testing.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding echo cardiographic procedures and findings as appropriate.

- Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology from an accredited program - Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience performing pediatric echocardiograms in a clinical setting, preferably in a pediatric cardiology department.
- Proficiency in performing a comprehensive range of pediatric echo cardiographic studies, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiography.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric cardiac anatomy, physiology, and congenital heart defects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with pediatric patients and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment to maintaining current knowledge and skills through continuing education and professional development activities.
