Position: Occupational Therapist (OT)
MECA Therapies, LLC is looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our professional team.
MECA Therapies is the largest pediatric rehabilitation provider in the state of New Mexico. Our mission is to strive every day towards ensuring that our families and their children have access to the highest quality of care in the communities we serve.
The Occupational Therapist provides Occupational Therapy services to include evaluation and treatment to children ages birth to three with developmental delays and/or diagnosed conditions. These services will be conducted within a variety of environments in home and community settings.

Education and Licensure
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
- Licensure from the NM Board of Occupational Therapy
General Requirements
- Knowledge and experience in the field of Occupational Therapy
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Windows
- Proficient organizational and record‑keeping skills
- Effective oral and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills
- Ability to train clients, family members and professionals
- Exercise a high level of confidentiality
- Have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation available during working hours
Essential Duties
The OT will operate within Local, State and Federal Regulations as well as adhere to all MECA policies and procedures. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
Administering standardized assessment tests within professional scope of practiceBecome IDA certified and participate in evaluations as requestedDeveloping appropriate and thorough recommendationsPresenting diagnostic findings completely and accuratelyWriting evaluation reports with technical accuracySeeking appropriate information from medical and/or other resources as needed to implement treatment strategiesDeveloping theoretically sound plans describing objectives and procedures for treatmentSelecting appropriate stimulus materials and treatment modalities for age and ability of the childGiving clear concise instructions in presenting materials and/or techniques in therapyRecording and tracking daily progress accuratelyUtilizing time in session efficiently to meet objectivesProviding accurate and immediate feedback to the familyPlanning for discharge of the childParticipating in the interview process for prospective employees as deemed necessaryAttending the following meetings:Transdisciplinary Team Consultation Meeting (TTCM’s)Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP’s)Periodic ReviewsAnnual ReviewsTransition meetings/conferencesFulfilling Team Lead duties as identified on the IFSP for a select number of children on assigned caseloadIf supervising COTA’s attending and participation, evaluate the COTA caseloadInclude the family in setting treatment goals and train families on specific treatment strategies and carry‑over skills for the child and familyOther duties as assignedCaseload Assignments
The OT will be assigned a weekly caseload from the respective program directors for each program they serve by:
Carrying a caseload of 27 therapy hours per week equating to 1,296 direct therapy hours per year or part‑time equivalentProviding services according to child’s IFSPProductivity
The OT will achieve the expected productivity set by MECA Management.
Achieving 90% performance goalDocumentation
The OT will accurately collect data for the child and families served and will ensure that the information is accurate and filed in a timely manner by adhering to the following:
Documenting therapy sessions and progress at the time of visit and is to be submitted dailyCompleting progress notes with IFSP team at 6‑month review TTCM meetingsDocumenting TTCM meetingsCompleting FIT evaluation reports within 3 business daysStaff Development and Training
