- Implements individualized treatment programs to improve physical, psychosocial, and developmental function and support independence in activities of daily living.
- May modify treatment approaches within the established plan of care developed by the Occupational Therapist based on patient status and progress.
- Assists with the selection, setup, and use of adaptive equipment and/or splinting to promote patient independence and functional performance.
- Provides education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on home programs, adaptive strategies, and preventive care.
- Completes timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional and departmental standards.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary care team members to support coordinated care.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and standards related to quality assurance, safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
- Participates in ongoing education, in‑services, and required meetings to support professional growth and clinical competency.
- Contributes to special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Two to three years of college‑level coursework, Associate Degree, or Diploma in Occupational Therapy Assistant required. Current Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license required.
- Less than one year of Occupational Therapy experience required.
