Therapist (Monday-Friday Nights) | Dona Ana County Crisis Triage Center | Las Cruces, New Mexico

The Therapist I is part of the multidisciplinary team responsible for providing direct clinical services to patients and their families, with a primary focus on completing psychosocial assessments, providing individual, group, and family therapy, facilitating psycho-educational training, family meetings, discharge planning, program development, implementing and reviewing treatment plans, and linking patients to outside resources.

• Conducts a psychosocial assessment and develops an initial discharge plan.
• Develops and implements treatment plans for patients based on assessment and coordinates additional services as needed, revising as necessary.
• Conducts individual, group, or family sessions as appropriate for the patient’s treatment plan.
• Applies psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions in the delivery of services to individuals and families to treat diagnosed emotional and behavioral disorders.
• Participates in multi-disciplinary treatment planning conferences, presents patient information to the treatment team, and recommends effective interventions.
• Maintains a caseload as assigned.
• Develops and implements special patient groups or program modules.
• Prepares progress notes and treatment updates in the medical record in a timely manner and maintains all clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and accrediting standards.
• Ensures each assigned patient has a structured and clinically appropriate post-hospitalization care plan; acts as liaison to referral sources and supports continuation of care.
• Provides crisis intervention to patients and families in acute distress.
• Introduces and coordinates a wide range of community resources—including financial, housing, legal, social/recreational, occupational, spiritual, and support groups.
• May perform case management, discharge, or after-care planning as needed.
• Requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.
• Requires at least one year of experience as a therapist with all age groups.
