Job Description
Provide expert pharmacy services as a traveling pharmacist in a unique healthcare setting serving a diverse and culturally rich community in the Southwest. This 13-week travel assignment offers valuable Indian Health Service (IHS) experience, ideal for pharmacists who prioritize professional growth and clinical expertise over pay.
Location:
Rio Rancho, NM, with local housing options on the reservation and a potential $600 monthly housing allowance if available. Commuting to nearby cities is also an option.
Schedule:
- 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
- Workweek:
Wednesday through Tuesday - Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM;
Saturday & Sunday, 8:0 AM to 7:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive pharmacy and medication management services at a main campus and satellite clinics
- Deliver direct patient care across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, oncology, and obstetric populations
- Participate in rotational shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Collaborate as an Advanced Practice Pharmacist with opportunities for career advancement and leadership roles
- Oversee specialized pharmacy clinics and contribute to clinical service development and quality initiatives
- Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacists, technicians, assistants, and billers when serving as Clinic Manager of Operations
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school
- Current, unrestricted pharmacist license from any U.S. state or territory (Arizona license not required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a registered pharmacist
- At least 1 year of clinical pharmacist experience
- Ability to submit and clear fingerprinting prior to start
