Public Health Specialist

Duties

See to the health and medical readiness of the population through surveillance, prevention and education.

Ensure the compliance of Public Health (PH) programs.

Review the policies, instructions, and guidance for implementation into base-level PH programs.

Plan, develop, and administer comprehensive programs for customers served by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).

Apply preventive and public health knowledge, techniques, and skills to reduce the incidence of communicable diseases, occupational illnesses, food borne disease, and disease non-battle injuries.

Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with HQ USAF, MAJCOM/SG representatives, wing and MTF units, local community, and state public health officials.

Perform duties and functions to assure the work of the organization is carried out.

Train or arrange the training of team members.
