HANA IT Project Manager to implement ERP, data, and integration work streams for our client, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, NM. The position is primarily remote with occasional onsite travel. The Program Office for the ERP Modernization initiative seeks an expert-level IT Project Manager 4 to support a major enterprise transformation effort affecting core business capabilities across the Laboratory—including finance, human resources, procurement, supply chain, data, integrations, and related IT services.
The ERP Modernization Program Office serves as the central hub for coordinating planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of this enterprise transformation. This role supports the IT workstream with a focus on the technical aspects of ERP implementation, including SAP S/4
HANA, integrations, data platforms, Databricks, SAP Business Data Cloud, application interfaces, infrastructure dependencies, and technical readiness.
- Provide project management leadership across the full project lifecycle using established methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Coordinate activities across internal IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, system integrators, the PMO, and Organizational Change Management teams to ensure technical work is aligned, tracked, communicated, and delivered.
- Proactively manage complex ERP, data, and integration work streams; track information; drive accountability; and deliver IT activities on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities for ERP Modernization IT workstream projects.
- Manage project activities related to SAP S/4
HANA, data platforms, Databricks, SAP Business Data Cloud, integrations, interfaces, infrastructure, environments, testing coordination, and technical readiness. - Develop and maintain project plans, work packages, schedules, milestones, deliverables, resource plans, risk registers, issue logs, and status reports.
- Coordinate work across IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, system integrators, PMO, OCM, and ERP program leadership.
- Track vendor and integrator deliverables, coordinate dependencies, and support review and acceptance of project work products.
- Identify, track, and resolve risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and action items that could impact delivery.
- Conduct project meetings and working sessions; document outcomes and ensure follow‑through.
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, procurement, communications, and stakeholder expectations.
- Translate complex technical information into clear status, risks, actions, and decisions for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ensure adherence to Laboratory policies, regulatory requirements, IT governance, cybersecurity expectations, and quality standards.
- Recommend improvements to project management practices, reporting, and delivery processes.
- Maintain required safety and security training and integrate safety and security into all tasks, including stopping work if unsafe or compromising security.
- 12 years of experience.
- Expert IT Project Management Experience.
- Experience managing complex IT projects through the full lifecycle.
- Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, dependencies, deliverables, and change control.
- ERP, SAP, Data, and Integration Experience.
- Experience supporting large‑scale ERP implementation or modernization, preferably involving SAP S/4
HANA. - Experience with data platforms, integrations, interfaces, APIs, reporting, application dependencies, cloud platforms, Databricks, or SAP Business Data Cloud.
- Expert knowledge of IT environments: system architectures, application development, infrastructure dependencies, operating systems, client‑server principles, integration patterns, database concepts, and data project considerations.
