Job Overview
The Active Directory Systems Administrator works independently or as part of a multi-functional team to design, deploy, and communicate enterprise technology solutions across multiple locations and business units. The role focuses on administering a large Active Directory environment and supporting enterprise DNS services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform senior enterprise‑level Active Directory administration, including forest/domain architecture, AD service owner tasks, DNS infrastructure, account provisioning, site configuration, enterprise group policies, LDAP‑S, PKI/CA, and monitoring of AD replication and core services.
- Administer Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments: load operating systems, update firmware and BIOS, install patches and anti‑virus, proactively monitor servers and storage, manage backups/failover, routine maintenance, change management and regular documented reporting.
- Develop and maintain extensive Power Shell and VB Script solutions, with familiarity in SQL and JavaScript to support AD and infrastructure tasks.
- Implement and manage multi‑factor authentication solutions (Smart Cards, Entrust, Dell Defender, RSA, etc.) and contribute to identity and access management initiatives.
- Plan, coordinate, and report on day‑to‑day delivery‑order projects, producing analysis tools, schedules, work plans, testing plans, training plans, and project documentation.
- Analyze IT problems, recommend solutions, and maintain project plans and reporting requirements in line with customer direction.
- Contribute to strategic planning, capital and workforce planning, policy and standards development, resource management, architecture and infrastructure planning, and auditing activities.
- Assist in the creation, documentation, and implementation of reporting systems and directives across engineering teams.
- Support broader IT management activities such as strategic planning, capital planning, workforce planning, policy development, resource and knowledge management, and architectural oversight.
- Provide help‑desk and technical support as needed, including ticketing, documentation, and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
- Minimum 5 years of experience administering a large enterprise Active Directory environment.
- Ability to obtain a public trust security clearance and U.S. citizenship (naturalized or born).
- Extensive Power Shell and VB Script knowledge; familiarity with SQL, JavaScript, and Windows OS administration.
- Strong documentation, diagramming, and reporting skills.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues, think critically, and resolve complex problems.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Experience with service desk software and ticketing systems preferred.

Salary Range$85,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and location.
