Position Overview

Full‑Scope general surgery practice. Dedicated physician, APC, and RN support in OR and clinic. First assist in OR.

Responsibilities
  • Performs history and physical assessments.
  • Manages acute and chronic conditions.
  • Orders, conducts, and interprets appropriate diagnostic x‑ray and lab tests.
  • Involved in teaching and counseling individuals, families, and groups.
  • Works autonomously as well as collaborates with other health care providers as needed.
  • Performs health maintenance activities.
  • Assists in surgery.
  • Serves as health care resources, interdisciplinary consultants, and patient advocate.
  • Administers preventative health care methods.
  • Performs periodic hospital rounding on inpatients.
  • Performs possible in‑patient health care.
  • Performs other functions as required.
Nurse Practitioner Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Federal and state DEA license.
  • ANCC certification.
  • Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.
Physician Assistant Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate prepared CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant.
  • Licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.
