University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center – Albuquerque, NM, USA
Join a leading NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and conduct groundbreaking research in regulation of ovarian cancer metastasis by productive reciprocal interactions with the microenvironment. We are seeking an ambitious Postdoctoral Scholar to investigate the crosstalk between metastasizing ovarian cancer cells and the metastatic microenvironment and how that leads to altered gene regulation through activation of specific transcription factors, altered chromatin accessibility and epigenetic changes to drive metastatic colonization.
Highlights and Responsibilities
- Employ single cell multiomics, spatial transcriptomics to identify metastasis initiating cells and their interactions with the tumor microenvironment (TME).
- Conduct functional studies using 3D culture models and organoids.
- Identify the underlying mechanisms using cell biology and molecular biology techniques.
- Test in preclinical animal models, including PDX using humanized mice, syngeneic mouse models and xenografts.
- Work with PI to develop hypothesis and design experiments to test the hypothesis.
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, report findings, manuscript preparation, and present at conferences.
- Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Health Sciences or related fields.
- Strong background in cancer, cell, and molecular biology.
- Experience in tumor microenvironment, transcriptional regulation or epigenetics is desirable.
- Collaborative, good communication skills, and ability to work in a team.
- Highly motivated individual with strong intellectual curiosity.
- Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
- Access to state-of-the-art core facilities
