Territory Manager – Halter Responsibilities
- Prospecting New Business: Driving up driveways, attending local cattle auctions, meeting with local livestock associations, and building a new business pipeline through outbound lead generation. Fielding inbound leads in a timely manner, prioritizing administrative tasks alongside in-field activities.
- In-Field Sales: Engaging potential customers on the ranch, discussing how Halter can benefit their operations, and providing hands‑on demonstrations over coffee at the kitchen table, in the saddle, or on a side‑by‑side in a pasture.
- Expanding Existing Opportunities: Identifying upsell and expansion opportunities with current customers, building relationships to increase value over time, and supporting accounts that do not yet collar all cattle.
- Hitting Sales Targets: Managing a pipeline, qualifying leads, and driving deals to close while keeping future prospects in sight.
- Customer Account Management: Maintaining strong relationships post‑sale to ensure satisfaction, providing support, and addressing challenges. Ensuring a smooth handoff from sales to customer onboarding and deployment.
- Territory Ownership: Taking full ownership of the territory, meeting with stakeholders at local, state, and federal levels, and building lasting relationships with regional agricultural groups.
- Customer Onboarding: Overseeing end‑to‑end onboarding and deployment of Halter’s product, collaborating with different teams to deliver a seamless transition.
- Field Learnings & Feedback: Acting as the primary point of contact for gathering customer feedback, advocating for customer needs, and iterating on product and strategy.
- Collaborating with Support Teams: Working with internal teams to resolve issues quickly, escalating problems as needed, and ensuring customers feel fully supported.
- Attending Industry Events: Leveraging opportunities at relevant events to generate leads, deepen customer relationships, and represent Halter’s brand.
- Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: Collaborating with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process for the US market.
- Driven Attitude & Communication skills: Results‑driven, motivated, adaptable, and proactive in high‑stakes environments.
- Ranching / Cattle
Experience:
Knowledge of ranching or cattle operations and their unique challenges. - Sales & Customer Success Expertise: Strong history of creating new business, conducting value‑based sales conversations, and building lasting relationships.
- Territory Management
Experience:
Experience managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, preferably in agriculture or technology. - Problem Solving &
Collaboration:
Ability to work quickly with cross‑functional teams to address challenges and drive solutions. - Willingness to Travel: Frequent travel within the territory to engage with customers and prospects.
- Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies; background in customer‑facing roles within agriculture technology.
- Background in selling software (SaaS) solutions in a B2B environment.
