The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a security specialist, providing information, industrial, personnel, and physical security program functions in support of the organization.

This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-11 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of the principles, policy, procedures and methodology of security administration and skill in applying practical knowledge of applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies. Skills have been gained through experience or education to carry out difficult assignments independently.

Note:

Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

OR

EDUCATION:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND

EDUCATION:

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.

KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

(KSAs)
  • Knowledge of information, industrial, personnel, and physical security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
  • Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
  • Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED

Drug Testing:
This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DoD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification.

The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE

Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
