Journeyman Lineman

Full Time

Under the direction of the Line Crew Foreman, the Journeyman Lineman performs diversified work of construction, repair, maintenance, and operation of distribution facilities. This includes work on energized lines, structures and equipment involved in the distribution of electricity. As needed, provides company-wide and departmental support as directed and any other functions and requirements deemed necessary by the supervisor.

• Applicants must possess a current CDL.
• Must have attained Journeyman Lineman status by an approved authority.
• Must have demonstrated knowledge of the RUS uniform system of accounts, RUS specifications, National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code, EPA, OSHA Rules and Regulations and NM State Electrical Code.
• Basic technical utility knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform transformer hookups, set poles, operate heavy equipment, tools, and machinery.
• Ability to effectively read and follow operations and safety manuals.

• Able to communicate effectively both orally and written; good mathematics skills; strong customer service and communication skills and proficient with computer and general office software.
• Candidate must pass a medical exam including drug screen prior to employment.
