General Laborer# General Laborer Main Office - La Mesa, NM 88044## Description The job duties of a general laborer vary. They may include cleaning and preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials, and using a variety of tools and machines such as blowtorches, forklifts, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment. Laborers set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures.

They help carpenters, masons, and other specialized contractors.## Qualifications# Major

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Must Be able to work in a fast paced environment
* Be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
* Wear all safety equipment provided
* Follow safe operating procedures at all times
* Be able to concentrate on their tasks.
* Understand and communicate information is essential
* Some tools and machines are computerized, requiring technical knowledge to use.
* Communicate in both English and Spanish can help general laborers advance in their profession.
* Keep work area clean, safe, and tidy
* Other routine duties as assigned# Organizational Relationships:

Aids, receives direction, and reports directly to Service Team Leader. Must be able, to work with all employees in the shelling/sorting plant.# # Educational Requirements and

Experience:

* Prefer High School Diploma or GED
* Forklift and/or heavy equipment experience (at least 2 years)
* Need to be at least 18 years old and able to perform physical labor.
* Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance
* Experience operating industrial machines
* Estimating skills
