Overview
The Re-Entry Services Coordinator will work independently to link reentry participants with various resources, such as housing, transportation, and mental health services, to facilitate a successful transition following release from jail. This role involves collaborating with the Reentry Services Program Manager, detention staff, community-based organizations, and public agencies to provide personalized, empathetic, and efficient support aimed at enhancing reentry success and lowering recidivism rates.
Responsibilities- Link reentry participants with housing, transportation, and mental health services.
- Collaborate with the Reentry Services Program Manager, detention staff, community-based organizations, and public agencies to coordinate resources and support.
- Provide personalized, empathetic, and efficient support to reduce barriers to successful reentry.
- Associates Degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Public Health or related field working with mental health, restorative justice or similar programs preferred. Work experience and college education may be considered as equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively in private and public settings with large and small groups of people.
- Strong organizational skills, including ability to set up and maintain program monitoring systems.
- Strong writing and oral communication skills.
- Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and other software such as Canva.
- Experience working in community-based resource navigation, case management, or reentry support is preferred.
- Knowledge of local social service systems (housing, Medicaid, SNAP, mental health services) and eligibility requirements, preferred.
- Experience working with justice-involved populations and/or in correctional settings, preferred.
- Ability to perform essential duties and adapt to working conditions.
- Ability to interact professionally with supervisor, subordinates, and other co-workers.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish helpful.
- Must possess a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check for facility access.
- Ability to perform the essential duties in the working conditions described below.
