Paraprofessional Pay Grade 2 Days: 177 Min: $21,948 Mid: $26,607 Max: $31,265
Provide consistent behavioral reinforcement and redirection to students with demonstrated behavioral deficiencies under the direct supervision of a behavior specialist. Assist in behavioral data collection and implementation of a behavior improvement plan.
Qualifications Education/Certification- High school diploma or GED
- Highly Qualified under "No Child Left Behind"
- 48 college hours or
- Pass local assessment exam
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Strong organizational communication, and interpersonal skills
- General knowledge of positive behavioral interventions and support strategies
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work well with children
- Some experience working with children
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Support and align work with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the district.
- Follow and support board policies in areas of related responsibility.
- Ensure district resources are managed effectively to maximize resources for student learning.
- Share in the development and implementation of district success plans
- Actively participate in ongoing development to improve work quality and district contribution.
- Model integrity, work ethic, and professionalism as a suitable example for BISD students.

- Maintain confidentiality
- Participate in district-level collaboration and training to continuously learn additional tiered behavior support strategies
- Serve as a member of the BISD Behavior Management Team
- Collect behavioral data on selected students
- Collaboratively support the development of behavior intervention plans in collaboration for selected students with behavior specialists and campus-based staff
- Implement behavior intervention plans for selected students
- Monitor effectiveness of behavior intervention plans to support behavioral needs of selected students
- Support campus-based staff in fidelity of implementation of behavior intervention plans for selected students
- Provide individualized behavior intervention to students in crisis
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in dress, speech, ethics, values, and personal standards of performance
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Engage in frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
- Move small stacks of books, equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment
- Control student behavior through physical restraint when required to ensure the safety of students, staff, and property
- Travel to locations throughout BISD as assigned or scheduled
