Counter Sales Representative

Counter Associate

Reports To:

Counter supervisor, or another designated supervisor as assigned.

The Counter Sales Associate is primarily responsible for assisting Summit's customers over the phone or in person and works closely with the Service Center sales staff and warehouse associates to ensure a high level of customer service. The role involves continuous training and education opportunities as well as competitive benefits and salary packages. Exceptional service to external and internal customers is critical to the success of a counter associate.

The associate must partner effectively with customer service representatives and warehouse associates as needed to maintain levels of excellence throughout Summit.

• Meet and exceed customer expectations both over the phone and in person when fulfilling orders and helping with products.
• Refill inventory with additional stock as necessary to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and choice.
• Assist customer service representatives as well as warehouse associates at times when additional assistance is needed to meet customer demand.
• Understand product capabilities, warranties, product usages and challenges, to further educate and serve external customers.
• Ensure counter area and other areas of store are neat, clean, and always stocked.
• Perform other related duties as assigned and as necessary depending on the location.

• High school diploma or GED.

• Experience in the electrical distribution industry.
• Previous experience in the Summit Warehouse is preferred.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs on a regular and consistent basis.
• Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment.
• Ability to climb stairs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
