JOB OBJECTIVE
The Building & Remodeling Specialist
will support and execute the safe, quality, and efficient completion of various tasks related to carpenter work being performed at a petrochemical processing plant, residential properties, commercial buildings including but not limited to:
Craft specific carpenter labor. Construct, repair, modify, disassemble wooden, concrete, metal structures/objects, etc.
This opportunity will be for our North and East area - Texas City and Houston Ship Channel Area.
REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE
- Must have 2+ years working as a carpenter or carpenter helper on an industrial construction project.
- Interior Remodeling Experience
- IFV Drawings Knowledge
- Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties.
- Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
- Must be able to computer basic arithmetic functions.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work a full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification.
- Assemble and install structural elements such as walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows, cabinetry, and fixtures, ensuring they are level, plumb and secured.
- Perform finish work, which may include installing trim, molding, baseboards, and other decorative elements.
- Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Must pass DISA drug (hair follicle and oral fluid) and background check.
KNOWLEDGE
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
- Identify all tools required for tasks.
- Detail oriented to ensure precise and accurate workmanship.
- Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
- Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
- Cleanup work areas.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
- Will talk and hear to communicate.
- Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.
- May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
- Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/ scaffolding using appropriate fall protection requirements.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
