Summit's warehouse associates play a pivotal role in fulfilling our customers' needs for materials and services by receiving new material from our vendors, picking customer orders for will call or delivery, and participating in cycle counting and other inventory management practices. This entry‑level position serves as an introduction to the business and provides an opportunity to learn product knowledge, industry best practices, and prepare the associate for future roles within Summit.
PrincipalAccountabilities
- Pull customer tickets to fulfill orders.
- Prepare orders for shipment to customers.
- Load and unload Summit trucks.
- Receive and stock products on a daily basis to replenish inventory.
- Understand products, their capabilities, and warranties.
- Assist sales associates in fulfilling customer orders when necessary.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization at all times.
- Uphold safe practices and proactively maintain a safe workplace.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong time‑management skills to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Flexibility to adapt to change.
- Strong customer‑service orientation.
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Aptitude for learning.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment.
