Boiler Operator

Hours:
6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Pay Rate: $30.00 – $34.00 per hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Boiler Operator to join our facility operations team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with steam boilers, air compressors, electrical equipment, pumps, motors, power generation systems, and pressurized piping systems involving water, steam, oil, compressed air, and natural gas. This role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems critical to plant operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair steam boilers, air compressors, power equipment, and associated systems.
- Operate and maintain automatic boiler controls, digital/analog control systems, and electrical components.
- Conduct chemical testing and treatments to maintain proper boiler operation.
- Diagnose and repair issues by tearing down machinery and replacing faulty parts.
- Use hand tools and machinery to cut, bend, thread, and fit pipework.
- Use torch equipment to sweat copper joints and perform soldering.
- Install and maintain high-pressure steam stations, including valves, regulators, strainers, and insulation.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for both electrical and plumbing systems.
- Enter and edit data in the Energy Management System (EMS) to optimize equipment performance.
- Troubleshoot complex systems and ensure safe and efficient operation throughout the facility.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with:
- Steam boilers, air compressors, power generation equipment.
- Pumps, motors, and electrical systems.
- Pressurized piping systems (water, oil, steam, compressed air, natural gas).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics and blueprints.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of full-time experience as a powerhouse technician.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills.
