Position: Pediatrician (Inpatient and Outpatient) – part-time

Position Information

The Pediatrics department is seeking physicians in inpatient, outpatient, and mixed settings clinical practices in Riverside, San Bernardino, and Coachella Valley at UCR Health clinics and affiliate sites. Pediatricians supervise and/or perform a full range of professional work in primary care medicine involving the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric patients. They work collaboratively with other physician groups for patient care.

We are seeking a board‑certified pediatrician to join our team of medical professionals.

Applicants must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree, be board‑certified, and be eligible to practice in the State of California by the time of employment. A minimum of one year of practice post‑residency training from an accredited residency training program is required. Applicants must qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and affiliated hospitals.

The full salary range for the Pediatrician is from $107,400 – $275,400 annually at a 100% FTE appointment and will be pro‑rated based on appointment FTE %. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $230,000 annually at 100% FTE. Applications are only accepted with current work authorization; sponsorship of employment visas is not available.

Requirements Educational Requirements
  • Possession of the education and legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance.
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
Experience Requirements
  • Completion of a medical residency program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience post‑internship/residency.
  • Candidates must qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and affiliated sites/hospitals.
  • Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Background and skills in clinical practice, clinical teaching, and managed care.
  • Prior experience providing inpatient and/or outpatient pediatric care, newborn exams, and ER consults.
  • Experience and interest in chronic disease management and working in interdisciplinary teams.
Minimum Requirements
  • Ability to work effectively with staff and patients from diverse ethnic/racial backgrounds, educational levels, sexual orientations, and identities.
  • Ability to work independently under general direction and to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to stay abreast of new medical knowledge, and to maintain and increase expertise and skills as relevant to clinical practice.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer proficiency and first‑hand experience in using electronic health records systems to document patient interactions and coordinate care.
