Electrical Controls Technician – PLC & HMI Specialist

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Maintenance Controls Technician for its Coachella, California facility. This position is responsible for supporting equipment reliability through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, controls improvement, and technical training of maintenance personnel. The ideal candidate will bring strong electrical controls knowledge, a hands‑on approach to solving equipment issues, and the ability to work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams in a highly safety‑focused environment.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and support equipment electrical control and communication systems to improve uptime and reliability
• Perform preventive maintenance on production and facility electrical systems alongside the maintenance team
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving AC power distribution, DC logic controls, HMIs, sensors, motors, drives, actuators, vision systems, and industrial communication networks
• Read and interpret wiring schematics, input and output diagrams, and control system documentation to support repairs and upgrades
• Train Maintenance Mechanics on controls systems, troubleshooting practices, and equipment operation
• Partner with engineering to define requirements for new electrical systems, control system upgrades, and equipment improvements
• Build test beds and training tools to support equipment testing and maintenance team development
• Develop and improve troubleshooting procedures, preventive maintenance documentation, and spare parts recommendations
• Coordinate requisitions for necessary spare parts and tools while supporting internal teams with technical issues
• Maintain flexibility to support production needs through extended hours or shift coverage as required

• 3+ years of experience working on electrical controls in manufacturing
• PLC and HMI experience required, Allen Bradley preferred
