Position Overview

We are seeking a PACS Administrator II or III to support enterprise imaging systems across radiology and cardiology. This position will support a modern, high-volume imaging environment that recently transitioned to a cloud-based Philips PACS platform and continues to evolve through new modalities, integrations, workflow improvements, and AI-enabled imaging technologies.

This opportunity can be filled at the PACS Administrator II or PACS Administrator III level
, depending on the selected candidate’s experience, technical depth, certifications, and project leadership background.

The role combines hands-on PACS/RIS and Cardiology PACS (CPACS) administration, clinical workflow support, troubleshooting, modality connectivity, vendor coordination, and project work. Level III candidates will take greater ownership of complex system architecture, technical administration, upgrades, project leadership, and mentoring.

The position is primarily onsite.
The first 90 days are expected to be fully onsite
, with the opportunity to transition into the team’s current schedule of approximately four days onsite and one remote day per week over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PACS, RIS, and Cardiology PACS (CPACS) applications and associated imaging technologies.
  • Support radiologists, cardiologists, technologists, clinical staff, and other system users with application issues, service requests, and workflow optimization.
  • Configure and troubleshoot connectivity between imaging modalities, PACS, DICOM routers, post-processing applications, AI tools, and downstream systems
    .
  • Partner with radiologists and clinical users to create and optimize hanging protocols, exam filters, dictation profiles, voice-recognition workflows, reports, and other imaging workflows
    .
  • Troubleshoot PACS and interface issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve recurring application, integration, and workflow problems.
  • Coordinate with technology vendors to troubleshoot issues, manage service requests, implement enhancements, and support upgrades.
  • Configure and integrate new imaging equipment and verify that modalities communicate and route studies appropriately.
  • Support implementation of new PACS functionality, imaging technologies, workflow improvements, and AI-enabled imaging solutions
    .
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including application configurations, workflows, tickets, project documentation, integration drawings, and data-flow information.
  • Train and support clinical and technical users on imaging applications and workflows.
  • Monitor system performance, work queues, interfaces, and error logs and proactively address potential issues.
  • Participate in the RIS/PACS on-call rotation
    .
  • Collaborate effectively with clinical teams, IT staff, operational leaders, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Additional Level III Responsibilities

PACS Administrator III candidates will also be expected to:

  • Serve as a technical and workflow subject-matter expert for radiology and cardiology imaging applications.
  • Lead PACS/RIS/CPACS implementations, upgrades, integrations, and complex imaging projects from planning through execution.
  • Provide advanced technical administration across PACS applications, integrations, networking, servers, operating systems, and associated infrastructure.
  • Evaluate application architecture and recommend configuration or architectural improvements.
  • Lead complex troubleshooting and process-improvement efforts and develop solutions that address issues at the root cause.
  • Independently plan and execute technical work while appropriately escalating project risks and issues.
  • Mentor PACS Administrator I/II team members in troubleshooting, modality configuration, documentation, workflow optimization, and technical skill development.
  • Partner with operational and IT leadership on imaging technology selection, workflow design, and strategic system improvements.
  • Lead larger projects and manage project scope, timelines, risks, technical requirements, and stakeholder communication.
