This position is responsible for handling all cash and card transactions in the store while providing excellent customer service. In addition, we strive to deliver our Five Star Experience to Guests and fellow Team Members. This includes being committed to our Service Promise:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide outstanding customer service to guests and all other employees by exceeding our mission statement.
  • Deliver our Five Star Experience to Guests and all Team Members by embodying our Mission Statement and Service Promise while adhering to department service standards.
  • Manage financial transactions, assist customers, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Win customers over with your friendliness and impress them with your attention to detail.
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, have strong interpersonal skills, and be detail‑oriented.
  • Prioritize safety and provide friendly customer service, ensuring a safe, clean, and well‑maintained environment for customers to enjoy.
  • Work in a fast‑paced retail setting, responsible for driving sales growth through effective merchandise execution and leading a team that is well‑trained to offer world‑class service.
  • Process goods and services accurately by using the point of sale system; issue refunds for returned merchandise.
  • Answer guest questions regarding products or services, and provide information about promotions, policies, and services.
  • Resolve guest complaints or escalates issues to management as necessary.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, store security, and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitor the outside of premises, entrance and exit activities to prevent shoplifting.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on store equipment.
  • Clean and disinfect restroom facilities and service islands and fuel pumps.
  • Dispense propane while observing all industry safety standards.
  • Perform basic inventory management tasks, such as counting stock, recording inventory levels, restocking shelves and coolers to ensure product availability.
  • Handle processing sales transactions, receive payments by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits; issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain knowledge of current policies regarding payment, exchanges, and security practices.
  • Be able to advise customers on products and services available in the store.
  • Ensure compliance with all Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) as well as all Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).
  • Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to its guests and vendors and assist them as required.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and attend all scheduled safety meetings and training as a condition of employment.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job does not require supervisory duties.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience (MUST BE DOCUMENTED):
  • High School Diploma (or GED) preferred.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service positions, but not required.
  • Able to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with customers.
  • Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of maintenance related to travel centers.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSES AND ANY ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must pass periodic random drug screens.
  • Must be able to pass background suitability investigation.
  • Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.
