LocationCoalinga, Lemoore, Firebaugh, and surrounding state prisons and high schools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Instruct and evaluate students effectively in face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online classes.
- Implement contemporary teaching methods that enhance learning and utilize technology for instructional and non‑instructional duties, including Canvas, other learning management systems, and the District student information management system.
- Incorporate technology in delivering distance education, online classes, computerized presentations, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Teach courses consistent with the approved Course Outline of Record.
- Assess and evaluate class content and materials, making changes to address gaps and areas of growth based on student needs.
- Champion collaborative practices that create an active, student‑centered environment and close equity and gender gaps.
- Work with counseling/advising and student services teams to support and address student needs.
- Advise and assist students.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to instruct and evaluate students effectively in the college classroom.
- Ability to communicate clearly with students and staff, both orally and in writing.
- Commitment to working with a diverse team to implement inclusive, culturally responsive practices and to discuss equity in education.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and community organizations.
- Willingness to examine and modify instructional, relational, and classroom practices to better engage and support students.
Requirement as stated in the California Handbooks:
- Master’s in chemistry, OR Bachelor’s in chemistry or biochemistry AND Master’s in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology or geochemistry, OR the equivalent.
Requires a valid driver’s license.
