The Roller Mill Operator is responsible for running grain processing equipment including grain receiving pits, elevators, conveyor augers, steam controls, mill rolls, peg‑feeder motors, and more. Rolled corn is the foundation of this cattle feeding enterprise and attention to detail is important. The roller mill operator will work under the guidance of the Mill Manager, Mill Production Supervisor and Mill Mixer Operator.
Flake quality is top priority but the roller Mill Operator must be able to work well with others and take direction. The Roller Mill Operator must keep their area and equipment clean and assist the maintenance team with routine or required maintenance.
- Receive and unload whole corn trucks.
- Control the roller mills and supply flaked corn to the Mixer Operator.
- Take samples for lab analysis and quality control.
- Clean area and assist maintenance team and others when needed.
- Commitment to safety and quality culture.
- Driven, organized, and action‑oriented.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
- Excellent verbal communication.
- High attention to detail.
- Must work well in a team‑oriented environment.
- High school diploma is not required.
- Prior work experience demonstrating strong work ethic and follow through is a must.
- Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently to occasionally, the employee must push/pull, reach, bend, run, sit, stand, jump, climb, squat, kneel, lift, carry, twist, grasp/squeeze.
- Working with or near cattle, horses, vehicles, and equipment in all weather conditions.
